Shenzhen is a very large city and is located in the north of Hong Kong. Located in southern China, the city is a province of Guagdong. Generally speaking, it is the fastest growing residential area in the world. It started to grow very rapidly, especially with the investments of foreign investors. When the population is examined worldwide, it is the 15th city with the most populous population in the world. The city has gained popularity with its tall buildings. It is also a port city and is among the most active ports in the world. Among the places that can be visited are historical, cultural and modern buildings such as Window of the world, Splendid China Park and Kingkey 100. It is also a very effective city in summer tourism with its natural beaches.
Shenzhen Airports
Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport
Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport (IATA: SZX) is located 32 kilometers northwest of the city center, near the Huangtian and Fuyong villages of Bao'an district, Guangdong, Shenzhen, China. It is the hub of Shenzhen Airlines and Shenzhen Donghai Airlines, cargo SF Airlines, and the destination city of China Southern Airlines and Hainan Airlines.
The airport also serves as the Asia-Pacific cargo hub for UPS Airlines. The airport is undergoing significant expansion, the second runway was completed and put into service in 2011, and the new terminal was opened in 2013.
Land Transportation
Regular bus and minibus services connect the airport to the rest of the city. There are also intercity buses to nearby cities such as Hong Kong and Dongguan. Local taxis and frequently some taxis from Dongguan can pick up passengers from three designated waiting areas. These areas currently have the capacity to allow 21 taxis to pick up passengers.
Metro/railway
The airport station on Line 11 provides transportation east from the airport via Bao'an and Nanshan to Futian station, allowing connection to the Futian Railway Station High Speed Rail. Towards the west, via Fuyong, Shajing and Songgang to Bitou.
There are also shuttle services connecting it with Line 1 of the Shenzhen metro. Non-stop service M416 operates between Hourui station and the new terminal.
In the future, Shenzhen–Maoming Railway, Guangzhou–Dongguan–Shenzhen Intercity Railway, Line 20 (Dongguan Rail Transit Line 2) and Hong Kong–Shenzhen Western
The Express Railway is planned to stop here.
Ferry
Fast ferries are available from nearby Fuyong pier to the Outer Harbor Ferry Terminal and Taipa Ferry Terminal in Macau and the Skypier Ferry Terminal at Hong Kong International Airport. Free shuttle buses provide transportation between the pier and the airport.
Direct flights to Hong Kong Island and Kowloon were stopped due to lack of interest from passengers as Terminals A and B were far from the ferry terminal. However, after Terminal C is suspended, direct flights may be reopened due to its proximity.
Airport express shuttle buses
Main shuttle bus services are provided by buses marked “330”. They are located in the west corner of the Ground Transportation Center. There are two main routes; 330 from the airport to the west corner of Shenzhen Railway Station, stopping at 3 stops along the way. From the city directly to the airport from the Hualian Mansion building (Exit B of Science Museum Station). Hualian Mansion has city terminal flight registration services for some airlines.
The other line 330B goes from the airport to Longgang City Terminal in Longgang district.
When Terminal 3 opens, there will also be shuttles connecting the airport to Shenzhen Northern Railway Station as part of 5 new airport express shuttle buses.
Cross Border Bus
Currently, most buses operate via Shenzhen Bay Checkpoint to many destinations throughout Hong Kong, Kowloon and the New Territories. Shenzhen Airport New City Terminal opened in Hong Kong (23 March 2010).
Bus services provided by Trans Island Limousine Service Ltd provide transportation to SZIA and Hong Kong, including Sheung Wan, Causeway Bay, Mong Kok (Prince Edward), Tsim Sha Tsui and Hong Kong International Airport.
Direct bus services operated by Chinalink Bus Company are located at Elements Shopping Mall in Hong Kong. Passengers can register for their flights at the bus terminal, but they must carry their luggage to the airport. The shuttle runs directly to Shenzhen international airport from Airport Express MTRline Kowloon Station.
Shenzhen–Zhongshan Bridge
The planned Shenzhen–Zhongshan Bridge will directly connect Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport, on the east bank of the Pearl River Delta, to Zhongshan city on the west bank.
The road, which will consist of a series of bridges and tunnels, will reduce the time between Shenzhen and Zhongshan to less than 30 minutes. The construction of the eight-lane and 51 km line is planned to start in 2015 and be completed in 2021.
