Spring and autumn are the best times to go to Shanghai. It is neither hot and humid nor cold and wet. March and May are the best seasons to visit nature. In this season, the flowers are now fully bloomed and the weather is very suitable for walks.
Public transportation is very cheap, comfortable and practical. Fares for the city's modern subway system start at $0.50. Buses in the city center have a fixed fare of $0.30. There are also metered taxis, but most of the drivers do not know how to speak English.
January and February are the coldest months with a daily temperature of around 6°C. July and August are the hottest and rainiest months with a daily temperature of 30°C.

Shanghai Pudong International Airport (IATA: PVG) is one of China's main aviation hubs and one of Shanghai's two international airports. Pudong Airport serves mostly international flights, while the other important airport, Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport, hosts mostly local and regional flights. Pudong Airport, located 30 kilometers east of the city center, has an area of 40 square kilometers adjacent to the beach in eastern Pudong. The airport is operated by Shanghai Airport Authority.
The airport, which is the main hub for China Eastern Airlines and Shanghai Airlines, also serves as an important international hub for Air China.
Pudong Airport's two main passenger terminals are located on the sides of four parallel runways. The third terminal is planned for 2015, and an additional satellite terminal and two additional runways are planned to be built. With this, the airport's annual capacity of 60 million passengers will increase to 80 million passengers and will also provide the airport with the opportunity to lift six million tons of cargo annually.

Maglev Train
As of January 29, 2004, the world's first commercial high-speed maglev railway, Shanghai Maglev Train, has been put into service, providing transportation between Pudong International Airport and Longyang Road Metro Station, which offers the opportunity to transfer to Line 2, Line 7 and Line 16. Reaching a top speed of 431 kilometers per hour, the train covers the distance between the 30 km long Longyang Road Metro station and Pudong International Airport in less than eight minutes. The train departs every 15 minutes and passengers arrive at the airport in less than 25 minutes, including waiting time.
Shanghai Metro Line 2
Shanghai Metro Line 2 also provides transportation between Pudong International Airport and Longyang Road, Lujiazui, People's Square and Shanghai's local airport, Hongqiao International Airport. Line 2 is part of the Shanghai metro system and therefore, unlike Maglev, free transfer is possible within the system.
Its cost is much lower than Maglev. The normal journey time to People's Square in the city center is over an hour. It is most logical to use public transportation for flights to Hongqiao International Airport that take only five hours.
It should also be noted that Line 2 operates in two parts: trains arriving from Pudong International Airport stop at Guanglan Road, and passengers who want to continue the journey must take the other train on the platform. Also, not all trains go to Hongqiao International Airport.
Eight bus lines operate at Pudong International Airport, and they provide fast transportation to different places.
Airport Bus Line 1: To Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport
Airport Bus Line 2: To Jing'an Temple (City Terminal Center)
Airport Bus Line 4: Deping Road, Pudong Street, Wujiaochang and Dabaishu to Hongkou Stadium Center
Airport Bus Line 5: Longyang Road Subway Station at South Pudong Road (Lujiazui), via Century Street, and via East Yan'an Road at Middle Zhejiang Road (People's Square) to Shanghai Railway Station
Airport Bus Line 7: via West Huaxia Road at Shangnan Road and via East Huaxia Road at Chuansha Road (Chuansha) to Shanghai South Railway Station
Airport Bus Line 8: Nanhui Bus Terminal
Airport Bus Line 9: Xinzhuang Subway Station
Airport Bus Ring Line 1: To Hangchengyuan (Shiwan), stopping at Airport Workplace.
Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport (IATA: SHA) is Shanghai's main domestic airport and operates very few international flights. It is located near Hongqiao Town, Changning County. Shanghai's main international airport is located 13 kilometers west of the city center, closer to Pudong Airport.
Hongqiao Airport serves as a hub for China Eastern Airlines, Shanghai Airlines, Juneyao Airlines and Spring Airlines. Hongqiao Airport hosted 37,960,200 passengers in 2014, an increase of 21.3 percent compared to 2010. This makes it the 4th busiest airport in mainland China and the 21st busiest airport in the world. In addition, the airport is the 5th busiest airport in mainland China according to cargo traffic and the 7th busiest airport according to traffic movements.
Land Transportation
Hongqiao Airport Terminal 2 is located adjacent to Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station, the main railway hub through which Beijing–Shanghai High-Speed Railway, Shanghai–Hangzhou High-Speed Railway and Shanghai–Nanjing Intercity High-Speed Railway high-speed trains pass. The other terminal of the airport, Terminal 1, is located opposite Terminal 2.
Three stations of the metro network provide transportation to the airport and the railway station:
Hongqiao Railway Station: Line 2, Line 10
Hongqiao Airport Terminal 2 Station: Line 2, Line 10
Hongqiao Airport Terminal 2 station : Line 10
The extension line of the proposed Shanghai Maglev Train, which will pass from Longyang Road to Shanghai South Railway Station and reach Hongqiao, will connect two airports together.
will connect it to someone. At the highest speed, the maglev will cover the 55 km route in 15 minutes. The original plan envisaged the extension line to be completed in 2010 for the 2010 Shanghai Expo, but it was postponed indefinitely as a result of protests.
