Sao Paulo–Guarulhos International Airport

São Paulo/Guarulhos–Governador André Franco Montoro International Airport (IATA: GRU) is also known as Cumbica Airport, mostly due to the name of the district where it is located and the Brazilian Air Force base that is still located within the airport complex. It is the main international airport serving São Paulo, Brazil. It is located in the municipality of Guarulhos, Greater São Paulo. Transport

The airport is located 25 km away from São Paulo city center.

Vehicle

The airport has its own highway system: the Rodovia Hélio Smidt Highway connects the airport to the Presidente Dutra Highway or the Ayrton Senna Highway. Guarulhos residents can access the road from Monteiro Lobato Boulevard. Taxis are located at the arrivals exit of both terminals, and there are car rental companies inside.

Bus

Bus services are provided by Airport Bus Service and operated by EMTU and Consórcio Internorte - Área 3. This service provides transportation from Guarulhos to Congonhas airport, Tietê Bus Terminal, Palmeiras-Barra Funda Intermodal Terminal, Faria Lima Street, Republica Square (Praça da República), Berrini street. To hotels located in the Itaim Bibi district and along Paulista Street and Rua Augusta. Depending on traffic, the journey takes about an hour. At the airport, tickets can be purchased from the counter in the waiting area outside Terminal 1, on the arrivals floor of Wing B.

Pássaro Marron/EMTU, the Internorte Consortium union, offers two regular bus lines, 257 and 299, from Tatuapé metro station (Linha Vermelha) to Guarulhos airport every 30 minutes. Tatuapé both buses can be boarded from the street level. At the airport, the stops for both buses are located on the arrivals floor connecting Terminals 1 and 2.

Gol Airlines and LATAM provide their passengers with free bus transfers between Guarulhos and Congonhas airport at regular hours.

Railway

There is currently no rail transportation to Guarulhos. São Paulo's suburban line 13, operated by CPTM, is under construction and was expected to start operating in 2015, but as of 2016 the opening of the line has been postponed until 2019.
