Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (IATA: PHX) is a civil-military airport located 5 km southeast of the center of Phoenix in Maricopa County, Arizona, USA. It is Arizona's largest and busiest airport and one of the largest commercial airports in the United States.
In 2015, the airport hosted 44,006,205 passengers, an increase of 4.5 percent compared to the previous year, making it the 11th most used airport in the USA and the 29th busiest airport in the world. While 1,200 aircraft movements are recorded daily from the airport, it hosts 100,000 passengers and handles 800 thousand tons of cargo. According to Federal Aviation Administration data, there were 20,169,926 passenger movements from the airport in 2012, while this figure was recorded as 20,211,799 in 2011.
Land Transportation
The free airport shuttle bus, which operates 24 hours a day, connects all terminals and the Eastern Economic Park. Passengers can also easily access the Eastern Economic Park via the PHX Sky Train in Terminal 4.
Valley Metro bus route 13 provides connectivity between all terminals and the Valley Metro bus network. Valley Metro Rail has a stop near the 44th St/Washington light rail station. The moving trackside walkway on Washington Street allows light rail station passengers to reach the nearby PHX Sky Train station and from there to Terminal 4 and East Economic Park. Valley Metro's buses 1 and 44 provide transportation to the PHX Sky Train station at 44th Street & Washington, while bus 3 stops around the corner from the light rail.
Numerous taxi, limousine, and shuttle bus companies also provide transportation from each airport terminal to the Phoenix metropolitan area and other parts of the state.
