About Miami

Best Time for Trip

January to April is the visiting season in Miami, and the flock of tourists shows this. However, visitors with lower budgets (who also avoid crowds) also discovered the quiet summer months of the city. These months are known as between June and September. Known as part of the hurricane belt, Miami may experience inclement weather between June and November, but as long as the sun is shining, Miami is ready to cooperate in any way possible.

Transportation in Miami

Miamians love their cars, and if you don't rent a car your only other options are taxis or car services. The Miami-Dade Transit system offers 800 Metrobuses for $2.25 each, while the electric-powered Metromover, which operates rings throughout downtown and Brickell, is free.

Weather in Miami

July is the hottest month with an average temperature of 28°C, and January is the coldest month with an average temperature of 20°C.

Things to Know Before You Go

Travelers who are not bothered by humidity should visit Mimai between June and November. During this period, while the best hotels offer the most affordable offers, it is very easy to find a place in the most popular restaurants and clubs.

Miami Airports

Miami International Airport

Miami International Airport (IATA: MIA), also known as MIA and historically as Wilcox Field, is the main airport serving the Miami region of the United States.

The airport is located 13 km northwest of Miami metropolitan Miami city center, in unincorporated Miami-Dade County and between the Miami, Hialeah, Doral, Miami Springs, Virginia Gardens village and unincorporated Fontainebleau neighborhoods. It is also South Florida's main airport for long-haul international flights. Miami International Airport is also one of eight airports in the United States that can accommodate giant Airbus A380 aircraft.

Land Transportation

There are direct public transportation services to Miami International Airport, Miami-Dade Transit's Metrorail, the Metrobus network, and the Greyhound Bus Line to the TriRail commuter rail line.

Miami International Airport offers service with the MIA Mover system, which transports transit passengers faster from the runway. This free passenger transportation system opened on September 9, 2011 and operates between MIA terminals and Miami Central Station. Miami Central Station provides direct access to Tri-Rail and Amtrak as of 2015.

On July 28, 2012, Miami Central Station and the Metrorail Orange Line opened the more than two-mile stretch between Earlington Heights and MIC, offering passengers rapid rail transportation from Miami International Airport to downtown and destinations to the south.

To and from Metrorail, Downtown, South Beach

Metrorail and Metrobus are both cheap and widely used means of transportation from MIA to popular points of the city.

Metrorail provides transportation from Miami International Airport to points of the city such as Downtown, Brickell, Civic Center, Coconut Grove, Coral Gables, Dadeland, Hialeah, South Miami and Wynwood with Orange Line trains. It takes approximately 15 minutes to reach the city center from the airport by Metrorail. Its fee is 2 dollars and it also offers free transfer to Metrobus when necessary.

Miami-Dade Transit operates the popular Airport Flyer and provides a direct connection between South Beach and MIA on Lincoln Road. Operating seven days a week, buses run every 30 minutes between South Beach and MIA, between 06:00 and 23:00. The Airport Flyer, like other Metrobus lines, departs from the ground floor of Metrorail Miami Central Station.

Tri-Rail to and from Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach

Miami's commuter rail system, Tri-Rail, began providing direct service to MIA on April 5, 2015, and can be boarded from the Rental Car Center, like Metrobus and Metrorail services.

Tri-Rail connects MIA to the northern Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach areas. The northern points to which Tri-Rail provides direct transportation are as follows: Boca Raton, Deerfield Beach, Delray Beach, Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood, Pompano Beach and West Palm Beach. One-way ticket prices to the northernmost point, West Palm Beach, vary between $2.50 and $6.90.

To use Tri-Rail, passengers must take the free MIA Mover from the airport terminal to Miami Central Station/Car Rental Center, now also the Tri-Rail train station.

Intercity Travel

Greyhound Bus Line also operates at Miami Central Station to reach destinations in the north such as Orlando, Tampa, Washington DC, Philadelphia or New York City.
gives.

In mid-2016, Miami Central Station will also be served by Silver Star and Silver Meteor trains. These will operate daily trips to Orlando, Jacksonville, Washington DC, Philadelphia and New York City.

Taxi and Shuttle Buses

The most expensive transportation options (excluding car rental) are taxis, shuttle buses, and limousines. Taxis and shuttle buses charge a flat rate to popular spots in Miami like Brickell, downtown and South Beach. It is possible to find taxis and buses at Miami Central Station or at the ground floor arrivals.

Car Rental

MIA's newly completed Car Rental Center at Miami Central Station houses all MIA car rental companies (17 companies in total) under one roof. To rent a car, take MIA from the airport terminals and reach Miami Central Station.
