Las Vegas Airports

McCarran International Airport

McCarran International Airport (IATA: LAS) is the main commercial airport serving the Las Vegas Valley, a major metropolitan region of the US state of Nevada.

The airport is located in Paradise, 5 miles (8 km) south of downtown Las Vegas. Owned by Clark County, the airport is operated by the Clark County Aviation Authority. The airport takes its name from former Nevada senator Pat McCarran, who played an important role in the development of both Las Vegas and national aviation.

While McCarran accepted 45,300,000 passengers in 2015, an increase of 5.8 percent compared to the previous year, this figure is lower than previous years. It is the 26th busiest airport in the world by passenger traffic and the 8th busiest airport by aircraft movement. The airport provides non-stop aviation services to destinations in North America, Europe and Asia. It serves as the operational base for Allegiant Air and the crew and maintenance base for Southwest Airlines and Spirit Airlines.

Transport

Vehicle

Transportation to McCarran Airport is provided by McCarran Airport Connector, which provides connection to Paradise Road from the north and the Las Vegas Beltway from the south.

Terminal 1 and Terminal 3 have their own parking garage. In addition, each terminal has its own economic car park offering economical parking fees and a separate space for large vehicles.

There is also a shuttle bus service between the terminals and between the remote Terminal 1 and the economical and spacious car park. In March 2016, the airport opened free mobile car parking for those waiting for passengers.

Bus

RTC Transit provides bus transportation to and from various locations in the Las Vegas Valley. Route 108, Route 109, Westcliff Airport Express and Centennial Express offer direct transportation to the airport. Buses depart from the ground floor of Terminal 1 and the second floor of Terminal 3.
