About Copenhagen

Copenhagen , with its name meaning merchant port, describes its economy and is the capital of Denmark. The official language of the country is Danish, and three lakes in the city center create a different ambience. The main road in the center is also followed by Yay Street. In addition to being known for its streets closed to traffic, the city has also become a popular destination for its restaurants where world-famous chefs serve. Copenhagen Airport, Kastrup or Copenhagen Airport (IATA: CPH) is the main international airport serving Denmark, Copenhagen, the whole of Zealand, the Øresund region and a large part of southern Sweden. It is the largest airport in the Scandinavian countries and one of the oldest airports in Europe, with 26.6 million passengers in 2015. It is also the busiest airport for international travel to Scandinavia.

The airport is located on the island of Amager, 8 kilometers south of Copenhagen city center and 24 kilometers (15 miles) from Malmö city center via the Øresund bridge. The airport covers an area of 11.8 square kilometers. A large part of the airport is located in the municipality of Tårnby, and a small part is located in the city of Dragør.


Land Transportation

Private airport buses depart from the airport area every 15 minutes. The bus line connects all terminals and car parks and calls at all 11 stops. Transportation is free for everyone. For several hours at night, buses depart every 20 minutes.


Train

The airport's train station is located under Terminal 3 and on the Øresund Railway Line.

Trains run by DSB Øresund and are part of the Øresundståg service pass through the station. These trains provide local transportation to Copenhagen city center and Helsingør and stop very frequently within Denmark. Øresundståg also operates regional train services to different destinations in Sweden. Destinations in Sweden are: Malmö, Gothenburg, Kalmar, Karlskrona and Kristianstad.

Danish national railway institution DSB has InterCity and InterCityExpress trains that take passengers from this station. Local destinations are Esbjerg, Aarhus, Aalborg and Sønderborg. DSB also provides train services to the border cities of Germany and Sweden, such as Flensburg (Germany) and Ystad (Sweden), from where the ferry runs to the Danish island of Bornholm.

Sweden SJ operates a daily high-speed train service from Copenhagen central station (København H) and Stockholm central station (Stockholm C) and Gothenburg (Göteborg). All of these trains pick up passengers from Copenhagen Airport station (København Lufthavn/Kastrup).


Metro

Copenhagen metro line M2 provides a 15-minute journey between the airport and the city center. The metro station is above the underground railway station and has two floors and continues underground on the elevated line through 5 stations. The metro has no timetable and runs very frequently; It passes every four minutes during busy hours and every six minutes at other times and on weekends and every 15/20 minutes at night.


Path

Movia buses 5A, 35, 36 and Gråhundbus line 999 all stop at the airport, bus 888 is an express bus to Jutland, it stops at the airport. Movia bus 2A stops near the airport. There are also long-distance buses to Sweden and Norway operated by Swebus: 820 to Oslo via Gothenburg and 832 to Uppsala via Stockholm. GoByBus and Bus4You operate on the same route.

The E20 highway passes right next to the airport. E20 reaches Sweden via the toll road Øresund Bridge. There are 8,600 parking spaces at the airport. Customers can book in advance by visiting the Copenhagen Airport website.
