Soekarno–Hatta International Airport (IATA: CGK), abbreviated as SHIA or Soetta, is the primary airport serving the Greater Jakarta region on the Indonesian island of Java. Located in Benda, Tangerang, approximately 20 km northwest of Jakarta, the airport takes its name from the country's first president and vice president, Soekarno and Mohammad Hatta. Since it is close to Cengkareng district, it is also known as Cengkareng Airport. The airport was the largest and busiest airport in Indonesia and the 18th busiest airport in the world.
There are several transportation options to reach the airport: local airport terminal buses, buses, various taxi services and vehicles.

Rail Transportation Between Terminals
In 2013, the Indonesian government announced the construction of a fully automated rail system that will connect Terminals 1, 2 and 3 and be used to transport passengers. This system will be completed together with the airport railway in 2017.
Buses
Several bus companies offer bus services from the airport to various destinations. Travel time from the airport to Jakarta city center (at Gambir railway station) takes approximately 70 minutes depending on traffic. Buses depart from various points in Jakarta center (Gambir) and surrounding areas to the airport. It is possible to find airport line buses in the arrival hall of Terminal 1A-1B-1C, in the east wing of the arrival hall of Terminal 2F and in front of the departure hall of Terminal 3.

Vehicle
The airport is located in the center of Jakarta city, Prof. Dr. It is connected by Sedyatmo Toll Road. There is ample car parking at the airport, including long-term ones.
Rail Transportation
In July 2011, the Indonesian government commissioned PT Kereta Api for rail transportation that will cost 2.25 trillion rupees and will connect Manggarai station to the airport via Tangerang. A 7-kilometer section of the line will be built to connect the airport and KRL Jabotabek station in Tangerang. The existing single-lane suburban line between Manggarai and Tanah Tinggi will be converted into two lanes. The suburban line will connect Manggarai station, Sudirman, Tanah Abang, Duri, Grogol, Bojong Indah, Kalideres, Tanah Tinggi and Soekarno–Hatta International Airport.
