Azerbaijan has been added to the countries where we can go without a visa or passport, only with an ID card. As of April 1, Turkish citizens will be able to travel to Azerbaijan without a visa for up to 90 days with their new chip ID cards.
In order to travel to Azerbaijan with an ID, you must first have a new chip ID card. It is possible to use new IDs as travel documents for direct travel between two countries. It is mandatory to use a passport when entering from a third country. In this case, this means that you can only travel from Turkey to Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, without a passport on direct flights. A passport is required for bus journeys as you will occasionally cross the borders of other countries. So what happens after going to Azerbaijan with an ID card?
When you land in Baku with your new chip ID card, you will be given an Entry-Exit form. You need to carry this completed form with you throughout your trip, and it is mandatory to present this document when leaving the country. Thus, you can travel touristically with your ID card for up to 90 days without a passport.
Azerbaijan, where we speak the same language, have similar food and cultural characteristics, although there is a slight difference in accent, is a very beautiful city that you can add to your route for the spring and summer months. You can start your travel planning by taking a look at the Baku flight ticket options, where you will not have any language difficulties, you will not experience differences in taste, and you can visit only with your new chip ID card without even needing to get a passport. As a result of the agreement made between the two countries on February 25, 2020, the visa-free residence period for touristic travels was increased from 30 days to 90 days. Moreover, it can now be visited only with new chip ID cards, without the need for a passport.
Turkish citizens can go to Ukraine, Georgia, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and Moldova, as well as Azerbaijan, with their new chip ID cards without a passport.
