The Stringed Instruments Trio, founded by three friends who crossed paths in Ankara, the city of musicians, in order to unite their ideas and voices, has been continuing its work since 2021. Consisting of Ege Çakır on guitar and vocals, Şermin Özlem Turhan on vocals, bağlama and cura, and Utkan Mesci on vocals, bağlama family, cümbüş, lavta and tar, the trio reinterprets the traditional music repertoire with a contemporary style based on a wealth of instruments and tones. The group members aim to share the experiences they have gained from their individual musical works in different styles, both with each other and with a wide audience, with the new interpretations they bring to folk songs that they have in common.
