Duration: 65 Minutes
The play titled SOCRATES' LAST NIGHT by Bulgarian writer Stefan TSANEV, whose texts have been successfully staged in many countries, is being adapted and staged as a 'puppet play' for the first time in the world. In the play, designed for audiences over the age of 16, we witness the last night of Socrates, the thinker and philosopher, through the powerful metaphor created by puppets. Concepts such as existence, honor and conscience, which are the fundamental issues of humanity, are brought to the stage in a tragicomic way by Haluk Yüce, who received the best actor award in Russia, and Marina Yüce. As it is known, Socrates was sentenced to death and thrown into a cell because of his sharp words and public speaking. What is expected now is the execution of the crime. The guard is very pleased with the developments because he witnesses the thoughts and experiences of the thinker before death. Perhaps the guard will fill his pockets with money by sharing his experiences with others. However, this impulse will land him in funny but also tragic situations.
